I remember I had to go to toys r us to get diapers after having been glued to the tv all day... and there were people complaining about not having had a break yet and I wanted to smack her and say "How can you care about a fifteen minute break?"
I was at school, in history class. Our teacher was a war buff, and warned us that we were next, being so close to N.O.R.A.D. and all the military bases being so close... I felt safe with Peterson, Ft. Carson, and the AFA right next to us...who wants to F with that?
I was just leaving my morning class and by far the worse class I took in college. I was headed through the Student Union and a load of people were gathered around the big screen - watching the news. As I was fumbling to grasp what was being said and happening and why? - the second plain hit - it was crazy.
I was only a few weeks into my first semester in college and my first time living miles away from home and family - definitely a crazy day.
I was in bed asleep on the west coast, and my step-mom called me from several states away to tell me, and my first thought was "Why are you calling me at 7:30 in the morning??". But then I turned on the news just in time to see the 2nd plane hit and I didn't move for the next 15 hours, other than to feed my little baby boys. I think I had my mouth hanging open all day and all night.
Okay - so I watched '102 Minutes' last night - holy crap. It was intense, crazy footage from people who turned their camera's on that morning. Umm - it was hard to sleep after watching it.
I was just waking up and watching the news while talking to my dad on the phone. We watched the 2nd plane go into the towers and we were in disbelief. At that time I was a nanny and the childs mother worked for the government. We were not able to get hold of her for hours. It was very frightening. I just remember feeling so strange all day. Even now, I just cant believe it happened.
