Friends & Mentors

Posted by Kevin |

I’ve recently realized that outside of work, my group of friends had become more Christian than it should be. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Christian friends, but I realized I don’t have any close friends at this time in my life that disagree with me on religion. I intend on fixing this – I need friends who don’t think like me.

Also, I’ve realized that I’ve been without a mentor for a few years now. I have been fortunate enough to have mentors for most of my adolescence/young adult life. So, I recently asked two people I know, trust and who are a little farther along in life than me, to join me in my journey. I love the time I get to spend with them, and they both are a great sounding board for where I am in life right now.

So - check your list of friends and mentors, you might be suprised.

You're in luck... I can solve both of your dilemmas. ...I just need your credit card number.

BTW, I have joined this cultish society of self loathers!

Still working on making it look purdy though.

Hi Kevin!

I am always baffled as to how people find my blog!
But it was good to hear from you and I have loved reading some of your posts.

I like your thinking re taking the truth out to the anti's.

And wanting to enlarge your circle of 'other-thinking' people

All that.

I also appreciate your humility in saying you don't feel you know enough about SA to comment on the situation here.

That is a rare thing for us.

So many people see what we are doing wrong and are sure that they know what we should do.

But it is SOOO complex - even for dyed-in-the-wool South Africans.

Really only God can be the Way for us - no human being could ever untangle the mess.

Be we remain full of hope -there are so many deeply devoted Jesus followers of many cultural backgrounds in this country - I am sure He will come through for us - maybe in an unexpected way - but He will.

Thanks for popping in to my blog - I will be calling on yours for sure.
